Well, i could see a few reasons for it...
Kaga is on both sides There should be no such thing as Abyssal Midway Hime in 1942 There should be no planes in the sky over the Japanese side during 1942, thanks to a certain Wahagai. If it is 1942, it will end bad for the Japanese side. Kancolle doesn't exactly rewrite history.
