Actually it's not identical. Besides the different format (png vs. jpg), this one is way larger than the jpg version.

Also the other one is a mismatch, I think it might actually be from twitter given the filesize.

Ah, that was what led me to trying to upload this one, as I saw the md5_mismatch tag.
For future reference is there an easy way to transfer tags from parent to child? Should the better version of the image be the parent or the child?

As far as I know, no. You must copy the tags yourself.
For the second one, the better version must be the parent (that's not means Pixiv version is always superior, though).

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention that you should get the images from the actual source, not third-party ones.
