Also isn't facebook more profitable then Twitter? I might have read that years ago so might be different now
Twitter literally loses money, I believe and has never been profitable but is kept around due to it's media influence.
( i.e. The scheme is that it's used to direct people to things that make money instead of making money by itself. Similarly with YouTube which itself loses money but it's influence can be used to make money indirectly. Influence itself is monetizeable to some extent. )
Of course there's laws in writing off ''loses'' in the tax system so it might also abuse that on the side. ( Lower the tax you have to pay by making losses on paper )
It would be fun to see them make one revisiting this duo now that facebook tanked their stock going so much into Meta and for the first time in their history have net lost users, in fact they lost 500k more users than they gained last year
