    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3518

They may have been asking leading questions, but hey, they were just doing their job too, so if it had to be, it had to be. I wasn't pulling the wool over their eyes, so all I could do was explain it openly.

Basically, we say fanzines are "distributed", but that doesn't get the idea across, and even if we explain, it's likely to turn into fast talk, so when I talk to normal folks, I just say "sell". (^^;)

Reader-added tags so far consist of "Kogasanecdote" and "I do it out of love".

Nowadays you can just say "I do it for exposure" and most people* will kind of get it.

It's probably even odds whether they'll take pity on you or be like "lol what an idiot" though.

*may or may not include Japanese tax officials

Must sometimes be very dreary work for inspectors learning the ins and outs and excuses of so many different trades.

Not in this case, which is comparatively glamorous, but imagine finding out how screws and spare parts for fish-slicing machines in canneries and fishmongers are sourced, and working out the duty payable if the CEO goes wild and unnecessarily splurges on a gold-rimmed heavy-duty deluxe foreign fish-slicer just for bragging rights amongst his peers, but only declared it a run-of-the-mill domestic slicer on the tax forms...

Here's the delivery slip from the print shop.
By the way, there's a statement here in the Afterword that reads, "The copy-zine from last time was well received."
But you don't make a profit that way do you?
So you see, I printed up about ◯◯ copies of those books for Comic Market.
About how many of those did you make?
I printed them for ¥100 apiece on a convenience store copier and sold them for ¥100.
I made about 50 of them.
Like I said, I don't make these in order to get a profit...
    I see.
The bookmaking is all done manually too, so I can't make that many.
