Wow the SDM crew before Meiling joined really got around. Judging by those signs despite the tattered state, Flandre & Remilia have been to Transylvania, Turkey, Quebec, Ontario (2x), Persia are what I can see.

You... got something pretty badly backwards. Those signs are places Meiling went (most recently) before joining the SDM.
Also interesting to note that she went to Transylvania, then apparently Fenghuang, China, then Scarlet Devil Mansion. My favored explanation there is that she went to Transylvania where she first met Remilia & Co., dropped by her home country to run some errands, say goodbyes perhaps, and only then moved into the SDM proper.
