I mean... there's Pearl Harbor, ships sunk or critically damaged, that started the whole thing and then Hornet dying alone during the Santa Cruz Islands battle... Enty didn't even see her sink.
I don't much like Akagi's attitude here. She didn't just refuse to train Akagi-chan, she also treated her entire existence like a bother, her first line in the comic is "Go play in traffic." And now she's playing the "If you wanna teach a little girl how to watch her friends die, then be my guest" guilt card, like somehow she's the bastion of morality here when her callous treatment of the younger version of herself is what started all this in the first place.

Perhaps. I see it more as a reluctant confession of sorts. She's admitting that, deep down, she's still bitter about the outcome of the old war, and she can't bring herself to take the newcomer seriously as a result.

I think she could've done that without guilt tripping Enterprise with the old war in the process, as if she's the only one that lost someone during it. The last panel looks like Enterprise did something wrong here. It just feels gross.
Yeah, this definitely comes off as being disingenuous than anything. Like I could take her seriously, if it weren't for the fact that she sent Akagi-chan on a Grim hunt, openly expecting her to fail and get attacked by the eagle, practically gloating about it to Kaga, then getting mad like a sore loser when it backfired on her. There is a limit to doing that, and Akagi has long since passed it.
This Akagi is a total bitch who goes out of her way to hurt people she doesn't like, and she doesn't like either Enterprise or her younger doppelganger. She doesn't have a moral leg to stand on but she's keeping within her previously established character here.
Yeah that was pretty out of the blue for Akagi, she's definitely underselling how vile she was to Akagi-chan earlier. Doesn't really make sense to guilt-trip Enterprise either considering she's the fucker who brought up Midway in the same breath, lmao. As said earlier, though, Akagi being a terrible person isn't out of character lol.
Edit: I sure hope they don't do a "Lil Enty shows up and Enterprise is reluctant to train her for the same reasons". Would just kind of slide the earlier problems under the rug while refocusing to how Akagi was somehow sympathetic in the matter.
I buy Akagi doing this, it feels like something she would do as a character. Certainly doesn't make her "right" by any means; it's more of a self justification along with a "sorry, but:" non apology demonstrating her opinion of herself is more important than the views from others.
And I also buy this giving E pause, not for more than a few seconds of course since it falls apart under any scrutiny as demonstrated in the comments. With her position as a well-known entity in a former enemies and allies combined fleet as well as a sole survivor she's used to dealing with both sides of the fence and has probably had to mediate similar sour relations. Survivors guilt probably factors into it too with what happened to Yorktown and Hornet. Now if she entertains this for more than a minute or two that'd be a little naive and silly, but this makes sense for my interpretation of her character I think.
Because that's where Akashi and Yuubari decided to set up their workshop and go full Spark, apparently.
And yeah, this is entirely in line with Akagi's behavior here, and something I can actually see her doing. Akagi is not nice to people she dislikes, and if in-game quotes when sortied together are any judge Enterprise is definitely on that list.

Not to mention, New Mexico is like a hot bed for "supernatural" and "extraterrestrial" activity so it'd be hopefully more over looked then if she did it on a naval base.
Well, that and it's a arid wasteland in the middle of nowhere so if something explodes catastrophically, she won't hurt anyone.

Next thing we know, she'll be either in Skinwalker Ranch in Utah or in some cave in Hellier, Kentucky

Little E is the perfect dance partner for Mini Akagi. But can they synch up to get Mini Akagi going though

Their rigging isn't compatible, since lil'E's gear is more likely a simpler version of her normal gear. Akagi-chan needs an actual dance partner with the same rigging as her, but as seen here and the previous strip, a Younger Kaga is a battle ship.

Assuming it's based on Hao's Little E... her rigging is a slingshot.
As much as people are hating on Akagi, and while I do understand she's being an hypocrite here, she also has a point. Why subject an innocent child to the horrors of war? I'd also argue it's an issue of perception. Enterprise places her duty above everything else, and that's what let her go on after Yorktown's sinking. On the other hand, Akagi's entire reason of even involve herself in the conflict is to protect those she loves, and she's probably predicting her younger self is not that far off.
You know... I always viewed pre-war Enterprise as a bright-eyed, somewhat naive cutie who doesn't think much of herself but thinks the world of her idols, Lexington and Yorktown. The one we see now is the result of losing everyone she ever looked up to and having to stand up for herself. I also felt that when she enters her first real battle, Midway, she starts enjoying the thrill of combat and almost starts reveling in it in a maniacal fashion. The final part of her character arc comes with the Battle of Cape Engano when her battle-hungry mania almost leads to disaster causing her to approach combat from a more cold, calculating point of view.

Although thinking about it more I don't think Enterprise will train Little-E after all Langley and Yorktown will be the ones to train her. After all Yorktown was the best of the sisters, she just didn't have the same luck that her little sister had.
Hmm. Akagi is certainly a very scary woman in most respects, but one of the things she IS very good at (and about), it's children. In the game, for as little as they show it, she gets along with Akagi-chan just fine, so the start of this comic just felt massively out of character for her. Heck, in the anime, she even showed how well she understand and deals with kids.
I mean... don't get me wrong: I love this comic. It's adorable and funny and I also really like the character art, but the start of it had me go "Uh... what?!" I don't disagree with anything you guys said, at least insofar as this Akagi goes, but... yeah. I kind of just have to take her as creative interpretation for the sake of comedy. I can do that.

The thing is that this resembles in game Akagi very much, she only wanted Amagi back, but got her smaller self as well, which she didn't want, and though it's true that she's really guilt tripping E here, she has a super valid point. I mean seriously look at how bad Midway and everything after went for the IJN fleet, Mikasa being the only one that didn't get sunk, scuttled or scrapped. It's honestly surprising that they are having remotely elongated talks,

I don't think people are saying she doesn't resemble her game self -- rather that her trying to guilt-trip E falls apart under scrutiny.

She has no valid point. She caused the war to start, she inflicted the same damage on EU battleships. Midway is karmic retribution, she needs to shut up and sit down, she has no right insinuating guilt on anyone over anything.
