My impression was she was taking out the humanoid Abyssals first and foremost, with the implication that while she was trained to do it as a means of taking out high value targets, she's taken it more upon herself to do it so less of her fellow ship girls have to fight, much less fight ones that are so similarly humanoid as themselves.
