  • 艤装をつけた艦娘を鉄道に乗せて運用…これだ

    本編とは特に関係ないし続きません。

Loading rigging-equipped ship-girls on a railway and putting them to use... This is it!

This has no real connection with the main story and won't continue.

Can YOU identify the locomotive? It's got a unusual ID-number (Japanese locomotives usually have 6-digit numbers) and while DE definitely is the right letter-part (diesel-hydraulic locomotive with five axles), these locomotives don't seem to have numbers starting with 5. I think, it looks closest to a model DE 10.

I agree that it looks like a JNR class DE10 shunter. There is a photo of locomotive 503, sister to the illustrated loco's real life counterpart, on this wikipedia page in the "preserved examples" section. The addition of "DE" to the number in Ido-san's drawing may be artistic license, as is the naval anchor emblem.

I think this might be a reference to Ash Arms' expedition system, where you load planes and tanks into railcars for bonuses to defense/rewards/scouting?

Clearly she never read the history of I-8, the submarine who spent most of her lifetime on land then the sea....
