Wonder if it was the fight with Beel that caused it? After all the successor to the high prosecutor role was stated to be initially ill suited for the task. So something like?
-High prosecutor(Justice) vs Beel
-Justice is blinded and Beel is sealed
-Justice steps down as High prosecutor due to debilitating injury
-Judgement forced to fill in the role despite being somewhat unsuited personality wise

justice being blind is a rather inevitable pun to make. A true spoiler is what happens if Helltaker himself is without his shades. though given the first image is of a startled Helltaker without his shades, and without eye lasers, it throws Justice's theory into question
