    Afterword
First book of Reiwa! This is Hisaka, the story writer of StrangeChameleon. This time, strangely enough, Hiyori-sensei actually finished his afterword before mine, so I got to read his before writing this. It made me laugh to see how thoroughly he destroyed the list of things I was planning to say. I'm usually the one complaining about him writing the same thing I did, so I finally really get how he feels. But, well. Three witches. It's been two books since last time, so it was nice to write about them for the first time in a while, and I tried my best to pack those feelings into this book. I thought I had their personalities pretty firmly established in my head, but, perhaps because it's been a while, I feel like they all ended up a little different, and a little more sharply defined too. I hope to get more chances to write them like this in the future as well. I already said this, but I really had so much fun working on this and there are so many Touhou characters I wanna use, so many stories I wanna write, that we're not running out of stock for a while. Even in the Reiwa era, we hope to keep pumping out books as best we can. With that being said, Heisei may be over, but StrangeChameleon will keep going. From now on as well, if you read our books and they make you feel anything at all (laugh or cry), to us, that is the greatest of honors. I hope we can meet again over our next book! See you then!
I'm writing this in the Heisei era, but when it comes out it will be Reiwa! So, our first book of Reiwa ended up being about the three witches and bonsai! This is the artist Hiyori speaking! Why bonsai, you ask... Back after Meikasai, we decided we should come up with a new book. "How about the witches making cherry tree bonsai! That might be cute!" but then the story ended up being about them making these pseudo-bonsai creatures. How did it come to this? By the way, the one who picked the pattern for Marisa's bonsai was Hisaka. I almost spat out my tea when I saw it, bwahaha. Back in the storyboard, Patchouli's bonsai was the weirdest, but thanks to that pattern, Marisa's took the top spot for sure! They spent most of this story arguing, but I had tons of fun drawing the three witches a little too in sync and poor straight man Koakuma being pulled around by their antics. I like Patchouli not wanting to be compared to a moody teenager and Alice calling herself a proud city dweller. I hope you enjoyed our little bonsai book! But now, I hope we'll meet again over our next book!!
