But what about Ryuujou though? She doesn't have a dance partner after all.
They don't need to dance for long. Houshou danced with Akagi before Kaga was finished. Taihou danced with Zuikaku. Shinano never got the chance to dance. Ryujou did dance with Houshou while Kaga and Akagi were being rebuilt in the mid-30s.
It's a bit late in the conversation, but I think in the case of Akagi and Kaga, those two ships were ALWAYS deployed together. They were practically inseparable to the point that their tactics and strategies always factored in the other.
Maybe Akagi-chan's problem isn't that she has no other Carrier-girl to work with, but that she has no one she can relate to on a FAMILIAL level apart from Akagi herself. And "Big Sister Akagi" sure ain't warm and supportive like Atago is.
