So according to this post, the AR team was originally going to have six members(the T-Doll in the bottom left was that Sixth member while the one with the hoodie on the top is presumably the Commander).

After the artist left to work and join another company that made Arknights, they reused the design for the sixth member for the Arknights character W

The Mk12 would make sense as it would be distinct from the rest and have a clear role. The other two would be competing for places already taken up by other squad members.
