Yes, absolutely. Stems from the difference between KC and WSGR, that being skills, which naturally expands over time. That, and not actually having to pay for JP voice lines. Missile ships become just another cv plane spam layer...

Just like Arknights skill progression, from simple stat or attack buffs, to unfortunately and recently "All G-nation ships in the fleet gain 3/4/5 points to target acquisition , and 3/6/9 points to firepower, accuracy, and armor . Equipped aircraft gain 30%/40%/50% increased anti-air capability . When attacking, gain 50%/75%/100% of their own anti-air capability and 30%/40%/50% additional damage based on their own durability. Upon successful target acquisition, aircraft losses due to combat are reduced by 50%/75%/100%. During artillery fire, this ship simultaneously launches a guaranteed hit and critical strike attack on two targets."

That is to say, this is the skill for AIII, the German aviation battleship. She's your cv, bb, and anti-sub all in one package. Imagine the raw damage potential of a Re-class, then make her able to auto-hit and crit. The only good thing is that event maps tend to wall her off via ship classification routing.

Edit: to give an example of my medium difficulty farm team, since I returned to the game after like 7 years, I have AIII, a Soviet cv with the same air loss clause so I stack her with B25 bombers (actual Doolittle B25 equipment) and don't loose aluminum from plane deaths, Big E for fighter cover (leveling her) which naturally don't have plane deaths, Shimakaze who dumps preempt torpedoes equal to number of jp dds, takanami who has Taunt (30% higher chance of getting attacked) and drops 3 autocrit torpedoes at end torpedo phase, and Le Fantasque who has 20% taunt and 50% chance of outright invuln on getting hit.

They cost me roughly 90 oil 72 ammo a fight, and tend to kill everything before the enemy gets a chance with the planes, torps, and Aiii crit. Very economical.

A costly 6x bb fleet back in the game's third year? The skills can be funny, but costs roughly 206 ammo 180 fuel per fight, and don't forget the repair costs.
