She's an oni walking the path of a hermit, if that makes sense. I mean hermits aren't exactly their own species, but more like... levels or ranks, I guess you can say. As Byakuren pointed out, even tengu can become hermit.

They also can have children apparently, at least in Touhou. The Sangetsusei comic series had shown the Tengu reported one of their eggs missing and mistook the dragon egg as one of their own.
Dam man , i hope Azuma Aya will make a new touhou manga , this was by far the best one . I wanted more , so hope for a new one that will have Kasen in too .
