    Beyond mere anatomy, he is now CULTURALLY becoming "her". Probably through the regular socialization and outside world interaction leading to subconscious realizations and habits. This isn't something that happens merely because he's a girl. Cognitive development is a bitch.

    Our brain is Very good at processing and integrating new stimulus. It only takes about 2 weeks for it to start adapt to nearly completely different sensations and stimulus. Not perfectly of course, but after around 2 weeks the neural pathways have begun to work overtime to adapt to the new situation.
