    出そうとしたのは以前作ったバ美肉用のモデルですねー。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3168

What I was trying to churn out was a model of the VGA I'd made earlier.

Ahh it´s one of those liquid 3d printers. I see it did indeed come from China.

After today, I may not have steady computer access again until the end of the month; I won't know for sure for at least a day or so. At best, access will be irregular, I think.

The only reader-added tag so far is "You hold nothing". (This is apparently a reference to a glitch in Donkey Kong Country 2.)

Could have sworn that rapid prototypers were the precursor to modern 3d printers. We had one back in college because they waited too long to try and resell it. Took it 8 hours to make an object half the size of a tissue box.

So... do we have the technology to print Gundam Models yet or what.. I mean that's the obvious best use of 3D printing..

Nah, print GW miniatures. Better savings that way.

Yes, but very few people are making models for anime figurines surprisingly. I keep looking for GFL stl files but none are to be had. Most of the efforts in 3D printing are people making small parts they need for themselves, gunsmithing, airsoft, motorcycle parts, and useless "remixes" (as thingiverse calls them) of other people's work.

I think the problem is most people who can do parametric CAD can only make mechanical designs, while those who are graphic designers are focusing their work for video games and animation in order to avoid copyrights. I know magpul came down hard with the ban hammer on several sites that were selling models of their plastic products.

Just print with a lower infill, then you can have the full size but reasonable material costs. Especially for figurines, you don't need strength.

    OK.

It creates models by using UV rays to harden liquid resin.
And what it outputs comes out like this.
    Nothing.
The model is too small, so there's nothing left but the supports.
    .... What is it?
    Feh
This is called a "rapid prototyping 3D printer".
    It All Peeled Off
Wait a minute! The new 3D printer and the fact it arrived late are two different matters!
    Screee!
    I've been had!!
