I know it is for the sake of avoiding confusion but with the way kanji work, does it not completely change the meaning to rearrange them? Looking at the pronunciation of 方東 it appear as "Houazuma"? I do like how Reimu gets trapped in the rotated コ. The one place of the panel where that would happen!

It likely does, but as no pronunciation is given within the strip, I chose the pronunciation I did for the sake of visual immediacy.
