Is this supposed to be based on the poster for the original "Tremors" movie, with the graboid coming up from the bottom? The Twitter thread seems to suggest it is the case; I don't know if the author/artist is doing a crossover or something.

I always wondered about that poster because the creature on it is nothing like the ones in the film.

I'm guessing it was some prototype design that got changed during the course of the film's development. The thing on the poster actually looks similar to the tongue/tentacle part of the creature, although the coloration is a little different.

A big thing in the movie is the mystery behind what the Graboids actually are. I'd imagine the poster was a strategic choice so that it doesn't spoil the true nature of the Graboids.
