She's a tsundere character voiced by Kugimiya Rie that in and of itself is unoriginal. :p Doesn't make her or the show any less awesome though. ;)

Mmm, she gets points for being the most moe of any of Kugimiya's tsundere, but that's still not much in favor of it.

Honestly, if it weren't for Taiga's chemistry with the rest of the cast, she'd fail as a character. So, props to the creators for making it work.
