From what I remember, Al exchanged his soul to get Ed's arm so there's no way human Alphonse and Ed's automail arm appear at the same time like this.

I did notice Ed's automail, and though it seems a bit odd to me as well, I don't take it as a big deal. Personally, I believe that the artist just wanted it to be there and that's about it.

If anything, it's just a mere error.
