It's anything but easy. Boxcutters have very fragile blades that weren't designed for stabbing people. They are, however, wonderfully handy tools to have around.
Nevada-tan seemed to manage. Not that you couldn't net a few frags with a sharp pair of scissors. I prefer to carry scissors myself, but I can see the benefit in form factor and versatility. As I understand it, these knives are reasonably common in Japanese schools, though they have pretty strict knife laws in general.

You can threaten people with many things. That doesn't mean it's easy to kill with a boxcutter. It's optimised for something very different, if you really wanted to have a knife for cutting people up, there are way better options. Not to mention that I could beat you to death with a school chair, does that prove anything?
