Not even Instant Transmission will help you catch the Roadrunner
Wile fails to catch the road runner, not because it's fast, but because he's incompetent. Did he ever try hiring a mercenary? How much money did he burn on Acme products when getting someone else to do the job for him would have done the trick?

It's more that Looney Tunes's universe is guided by the notion that no character can die, and the amount of harm a character will suffer is directly proportional to their "morality", as judged by the values of the cartoonists. Roadrunner is innocent, while Wile E. is "wrong" for being a predator or whatever. Physics will bend no matter how competent or genius Wile E. is to punish Wile E. Honestly, the best solution for Wile E. would be to just get a job (preferably something patriotic like making tanks or something considering its WW2-era) and buy a hamburger with his ACME money, since WB daren't actually say that veganism is the only moral option for fear of alienating audiences.
There were only two rules to the Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons: Any harm done to Wile E. Coyote was ultimately self inflicted, and he could quit chasing the Roadrunner whenever he wanted.
