Anyone know how to add the translation_needed tag?
Click on Edit, next to Comments, above your comment. Add "translation_needed". Click on Save. Buy me a beer. Take some drugs. Kill a bear! ???? PROFIT !
I uploaded it late last night and was too tired to translate. I plan on doing it in a few hours, but if anybody wants to translate it in the meantime that'd be fine with me.
Well, they're based on the IJA. Back then ateji was preferred over katakana transcription, as is the case for military (and most other formal) documents which were written in kanji + katakana (with katakana filling in the role modern hiragana does, so katakana is not used for loanword transcription).
