Looking at a few anime/mobage/etc. announcements on twitter, there seem to be a lot of replies with images like this with varying characters from various media. Is there a name for this trend? I think it's pretty cute.

I think it is just a new art meme in general.

It is bongo cat. Someone made a gif of bongo cat slaming on the retweet and like buttons and the Japanese artists I followed keep retweeting it before parodies like these popping up.
