Summary: Nazrin, buried under paperwork (well, scrolls) and in need of some quiet time decides to head for her own place with her writing materials; Kyouko offers to help carry the load. On their way to the mouse house, Kyouko's treatment of a sunflower catches the attention of a certain youkai. The rest of Myourenji gears up for a rescue.
Cast: The main story is between Kyouko, Nazrin, and (to a lesser extent) Ichirin and Unzan, and their interactions with Yuuka Kazami and her friend, the sunflower. The entire Myouren Temple gang appears, though only briefly.
Notables: Notable is the only word to describe the pictures in the "word" balloons this time. There's no gore or blood but there are depictions of a clearly dead Kyouko, Yuuka murdering people, and some threats so family-unfriendly that the balloons were censored - a mix of necessity and comic effect. There's still plenty of cuteness on display, but this is another comic with an element of peril. (Unlike https://www.dlsite.com/home/work/=/product_id/RJ147503.html though it's not environmental peril but Yuuka.)
It's hard to look imposing when your weapons are bendy straws. Shou's polearm, on the other hand....
Half of Lily White's appearances are in word balloons; she helps drive the plot right up until she actually shows up, then she mostly reverts to being a head ornament. After taking some time for hugs, anyway.
We get to see many of the girls prepped for battle. Varying amounts of weapons and creature armies are on display. It's really sweet that not only is the entire temple quick to mobilize to save Kyouko, but that both Nazrin and Ichirin are willing to take on the danger alone if need be.
I find the animated sunflower (using its leaves like hands) to be rather creepy. Well, except when it's waving, that's cute.
Is Suika's gourd everflowing, like some sort of Decanter of Endless Sake? It's implied to be such here. Funny, I'd think if it was she'd have drowned Gensokyo at least once by falling asleep with the cap off.
