@Kikimaru The bag. I thought it might be simply coincidence -- the letters "LV" or "VL" aren't terribly specific -- so I googled it. The particular way the L and V are overlaid does appear to be charateristic of the Louis Vuitton trademark
Also the "C and Backwards-C" on the cybernetic arm looked familiar. I was thinking some sci-fi supercorporation like Weyland-Yutani, UAC, or Tyrell; turns out it's just the Chanel logo
I have the sudden urge to read some car magazines and power tool catalogs.
