It may not be zombies in general, but specifically the employees and leadership of Z-News. Note the tag-line: "Our reporters pursue the truth, regardless of the consequences!" - and they are able to do this precisely because they are more capable of enduring the consequences than people who are more conventionally alive. In a nutshell, Z-News hires and recruits that particular sub-population of zombies that is inspired to employ their exceptional unkillability in the task of investigating organizations that kill the seekers of inconvenient truths.

Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if it is personal for at least some zombies. Perhaps in this setting, a number of zombies are created by unethical biological or chemical research (T-Virus, Rage Virus, take your pick), and those particular zombification victims have a particular animus against that sort of careless greed.

As a journalist, the biggest problem I encounter with cases of corruption, even more when you add politicians and drug lords to the mix; is actually being hurt or even killed, so I usually have to 'censor myself'.
