Simon gave up his title of hotblooded when he went through all the effort to save her, only to let her basically turn to dust in his arms at their wedding. They could have easily spent that time using a combination of super science and COURAGE to replace the gaps in her half-imaginary dna. They rebuilt her dead father's head SEVEN YEARS LATER! AS A SUPER COMPUTER! But nooooo, Simon had to go and be a little bitch about it and just let it go. How the Hell is that hot blooded or awesome? IT ISN'T! YOU SIT IN YOUR CORNER OF SHAME, SIMON! You can still be up front though, Kamina. You're still the man. You know what's up.

Nice forearms indeed... But Kamina isn't *that* buffed... he is actually pretty slim (and pretty ripped for a seventeen).
He did that because if he had done otherwise, he would have abused of Spiral Power, and risked awakening the Spiral Nemesis, which was the reason the Anti-Spirals waged war on all Spiral Powered races to begin with. So, he didn't let go of Nia because he wanted, but because he HAD to do it, for mankind's sake. Additionally, when he got old, he decided to leave the spotlight aiming at the new generations, which have the key to the future. Doing what you have to do at the expense of your own happiness, and recognize you are too old for the mantle of heroicity and pass it to the next generation are both very corageous acts, and for that, I salute you, Simon.
