Part of me is kind of depressed by this prospect...chances are some random crappy studio picked it up and hopes to use nothing but fanservice to make up for crappy animations and lame ass fights.
Well, there ARE rumors that an anime is coming, and frankly, the listed animators ARE the ones who did Mai HiME. So, I wouldn't go out and say a flat out no.

I really hope it gets a good animation budget.
i wish i could agree with you on this, but honestly it feels like your expecting way to much from it when it comes to pass. Queen's Blade by nature is fanservice and teasing. sure they can make an awesome story out of it and add cool fighting, but those would more or less be added bonuses to what you're really expected to see.

That depends, if they decide to shell out battle animation on par with Disgaea's anime (which was crap) then I'll be plenty ticked. Not that it'll do much to be mad though.
Animation that's around Mai-Hime or a bit higher than Ikki Tousen would be nice though. Queen's Blade may be about fanservice and all, but it's also about fights (the story is about as complex as your standard fighting game's story so I don't really care much about that).
A few awesome battle scenes in the whole series each around 35 to 50 seconds would be great really (like Grenadier's final episode's Gun-Kata). And if it's in OVA form (3 episodes or less) even better, more budget over less episodes and no chances of Naruto style lazy fights with everyone basically narrating each of their moves as if they were playing a table top RPG.
And yes, I expect a lot out of Queen's Blade, it's not as lame ass as Ikki Tousen was.
well i can't tell you not to get excited and pumped up for it. but i can't say it's going to turn out like something fantastic like you want it too. well it's not impossible to have a better plot than Ikkitousen, and such but i can say you should probably be expecting fights along those lines. but still how great can you make a series based on fanservice. personally i'd keep my expectations low for this, cause if it does turn out nice then it's a pleasant surprise.
Well no one expects much action from such a show... now sex and fanservice... people would expect a nice measure of that. (The clothes some of the girls wear here makes some of the Soul Calibur girl's outfits seem practical by contrast)
*sigh* I just don't want it to be a subpar series. Average quality would be fine for me. It's essentially a show based on a fighting game(technically) though so you can't blame me for wanting some nice fights.
As for the hentai...well, there's already plenty of hentai for it anyhow. Most of the artwork in the game is pretty borderline too. In fact, it's pretty incredible how many different ways their clothes rip...>.>
Eh, Cassandra and Sophitia's outfits aren't that unusual for greek fighters. Didn't the greeks go naked during the first olympics anyhow? Mobility is pretty important in a fight after all, covering yourself in armor is pretty pointless unless you can attack and evade as well as your opponent. Now Taki...she could do with at least some leather here and there...
And as for Kanokon, didn't it get ecchier in the anime? I read some of the manga and it really isn't as bad as the stuff I see about the anime.
Overall, my feelings for this are exactly what I felt about for the DOA movie. For one thing, I was glad someone took one of my favorite fighting franchises and wanted to make a movie, on the other hand I didn't want to be dissapointed.
I was. Oh dear lord I was dissapointed.
At least the fights were okay. If I don't think of it as something based on the DOA games it might make an okay standalone movie *deletes memories*.
well, i can see where you're coming from with this. but like i said, don't get your hopes up too much for something like this. i'm not saying it'll be subpar, but i'm not gonna let my hopes get up to high for something like this. especially considering how some series like this have turned out (like R+V anime).

Really? she might not be in the pic due to the lack of room and such. And I don't think there is a male character other than the nameless would be rapist orges, and cattleya's son
nah you're thinking to much on it. i don't think it's going to end up in such a way. they may be spartan though, but i doubt they're going to alter the sexual preferences of the characters.

Who said anything about altering sexual preferences? The manga makes it pretty clear that at least three of them are queer.
Yeah, you're right. To be honest, I don't really know much about the characters besides the artbooks. It's just in general I hate to see yuri tossed around in media since it's personally exclusionary when it doesn't need to be. People will make of things what they will, so it's completely unnecessary.
well if it fits the story then it's ok, but i don't know for sure if there's really any that are lesbian in the series canonically. there's too much leeway for the series in general.

Thing is fans love yuri; the hetro crowd is becoming a silent majority (most like too busy fapping)
Just do it like Strike Witches and make something that's generally appealing, without committing characters to relationships that could be described outside of friendship. Yuri fans can do whatever they want with fanfiction, art, and manga. Just make the official media appealing in a general sense.

well i think that's generally the best idea for a lot of shows. pairings is like crack to a lot of fans. even if it's yuri or yaoi, actually i think it's even more so on those two categories actually.

And I don't think anyone can do anything about Erina's tastes, her sister complex is pretty difficult to get around.
A sister complex is fine, so long as it's heavy on the fangirl, light on the incest. And the snyposis emphasises the fact the tournament encourages murder amongst contestants, so a fun, action-packed fanservicy series is not in the cards.
Considering the comments about Yuri and Yaoi being the majority... With the way things are in 2015, that's probably true. Or at least true that the majority of people within would prefer it that way rather than an actual balance, even though they claim it should be that way.
Probably safe to say that most of the anime community is filled with Tumblrina's who practice mental gymnastics, Feminists of almost any school other than Choice Feminism, and Social Justice Shitlords.
