Even if it's a tragic point --- that can veer into the artist's unconscious cruelty --- I too get miserable after been affected by such images. Graves are bad enough, but future wheelchairs etc. are much more depraved.

Depends on what the mirror's backed with (and which vampire mythos you're going with). If it's something other than silver (e.g., most modern glass mirrors are backed with aluminum; it's much cheaper), usually isn't an issue.
