There's still DLC, Deci. It's not much, but a faint hope is better than none.
I mean I am expecting a Pokemon in the DLC
but from Gen 8
if Nintendo gave Sakurai a list of who they wanted in the game for him to pick 5 from for sure the majority of the choices would be characters relevant to games Nintendo will be releasing over the next year or so
was probably just a big spot that said "get Masuda to show you all the new Pokemon and find one that can work in Smash"
