I'm not sure if this comic is connected to it, but new season of Kemofure got official synopsis of what will happen in first episode and it will be a hard reboot and retelling of first season but with Caracal and new human character.
I mean, Kaban is 100% creation of Tatsuki so Kadokawa has no right to use her image now, but it realy sad to see end of it like that.
So... if it's simply the first season over again... what's the hook for people to watch it? Same exact plot with two characters swapped out doesn't really make sense when people are already attached to the original.

Why do people watch Pokemon when it's always Ash and Pikachu plus whatever girls are in the latest game trying to become a Pokemon Master, failing, and moving onto a different area and forgetting all his old friends? Apparently, the S&M version of the same ol' plot is really good, and has a lot more viewers...
I doubt they'll give a blow-by-blow retelling of the same story; that would just be begging for failure, and they obviously HAVE to know they're going to have to really one-up themselves to win at least most of the fans back over.
I don't know what's been revealed about what will be in the second season, but since they're forced to radically depart from Tatsuki's story anyway, it might not even be in a post-apocalyptic humans-are-extinct future. (The official manga takes place when Yume was still alive, after all.)
I mean, definitively it will be somewhat different but the thing that we get right now is basicaly similiar to beginning of the first season - Serval, this time with Caracal find a human child so they decided to travel together and discover the secrets behind Japari Park. Between this soft reboot, lack of Kaban on promotional image and ownerships of her character it's easy to assume that we will not see her anymore.
Also, the staff is kinda weak, but i don't want to say no to them because Tatsuki was also not a big name. Still, besides Ryuichi Kimura(the guy behind Aikatsu! anime) people in the staff have even less experience than Tatsuki and Yaoyorozu.
I realy don't want to be sceptical, but between what happened in Kadokawa and what's happening now i see this completely new, unrelated to Tatsuki's series, anime as something that will probably flop. Tho i'll take note from the promotional image and seeing the ridiculous pirate costume of Lucky Beast i'll watch it illegaly xD
I'm sorry...
I know saying this isn't going to change anything...Minmi...I... I've only been able to come this far because I met you, Serval-chan.Face when she can't say "Actually, I totally plan on coming along and we've already made a boat!"I'm... going to miss you so much.To think I'm going to have to leave you tomorrow...
I still can't believe it myself......
Serval-chan?
Are you listening?
