Managed to squeeze out two puns that weren't in the original.
(Sorry, they just came out naturally. And Enty is also being a bit 'poetic' here.)
Also, The Lights in the Sky are Stars (1952) by Fredric Brown seems to be a rather popular SF novel in Japan (Gurren Lagann also makes a reference), despite being somewhat obscure to Anglophones.
Don't think it's that popular in China though. Maybe Manjuu put it in as a reference to Gurren Lagann?

Wouldn't be the first time. I mean, the Quick Construction item once looked like Simon's Core Drill, before it was changed to what it is today. How a drill improves construction time is anyone's guess though.

Makes more sense than a flamethrower though.
(Likely KC intended for it to be welding gun, but the graphics looks more like a flamethrower instead.)
Actually, how drill make more sense for building a ship. At least flamethrower can be used for...... melting some iron, isn't it?
Shipbuilding at that time still use riveting extensively instead of welding. You need to drill a lot, millions of them.
Yamato used about 6,153,030 rivets in her construction. Nagato-class use slightly more than half of that. Kongou-class used slightly less than half of that. Of course, you have to do at least the same number of drilling to make the rivet holes, usually two drilling for each since you don't want to drill thru two layers of massive steel plates.

Ohh, now it makes more sense. That carpenter drill is also called drill. For some reason i always associate word "drill" with giant drill from several super robot anime. Having different word for drill for your native language is also not helpful.

That TTGL drill bit is still preserved in Bullin's wrench design. How does it speeds up construction time? Why, they'd used the spiral power to make the impossible happen!
