    I don't think Aoshima's ever explicitly laid out her motivations for doing so, but Seija broke up with Shinmyoumaru on the premise that she had just been using Shinmyoumaru and never actually loved her. Despite this, Seija clearly still has feelings for her, as she became upset when she lost the bowl pendant. (Also with the fact that she wanted to protect Shinmyoumaru from Nue, despite her never having interfered with Nue's pursuits before.)
