Funny since there is a weapon in splatoon 2 that fires like a beam cannon, splatting anything and everything in it path. If I remember correctly, it also hit through walls.

Yes, but it is one of the Ult’s in Spatoon 2, i.e. can only be used once in a while. Having something like that for the entire round is technically cheating.
