The doppelganger ended up only being used as a brief joke, but in the original plot, Sumireko was saved by sacrificing her doppelganger.
However, doing something so big with doppelganger in a gag book felt like a waste, and I wanted to include that Komachi part I talked about, so I ended up changing it. To be blunt, I think that earlier version might've made for a cleaner book.

The worst part is that I like his style. But I don't like what his stories are about, or his weird fascination for cannibalism.

Well, it's not cannibalism since youkais aren't human.

Though, yeah, it really brings out the "I'm a Humanitarian" feel of Gensoukyou. I don't mind, though. It's a refreshing view of how dark the world of fae and youkai is supposed to be.

Well to be fair Gensokyo is a land for Youkais and other non humans so it makes sense that unnamed Outside(Mostly)humans are one of the food sources to be eaten to some degree but that depends on the perception of individuals. Been awhile but I think there was a older story of Zounose's that had the villagers (Keine was in on it btw) sacrificing an unnamed recently orphaned kid to the Tengus for the Gods of Youkai mountain so you can't throw much shade at Youkai when the humans themselves do it to.
