I've never watched the japanese versions of pokemon, so I only have the goofy 4kids version in my head, but to know the original voice of Oak and the narrator that has been with the anime for 20 years is now gone is fairly heart-breaking.

He was even the replacement for the voice actor of Mr. Satan and Heihachi who died 8 years ago. Looking at all the other roles the man has played over the decades makes it even sadder. If you're on this site and reading this post then he's most likely been a part of a lot of the media you've been seeing over the past 20 years as well.

Goodbye, Profesor Oak (Pokemon)/Void (Berserk)/Bunta Fujiwara (Initial D)/Jet Black (Cowboy Bebop)/Kizaru & Kong (One Piece)/Zabuza (Naruto)/Hohenheim (FMA)/Mr Satan (DBZ)/Ryotaro Dojima (Persona4)/Lehm (Jormungand)/Heihachi (Tekken)/Morrison (Tales of Phantasia...Goddamn, his opening Indignation spiel was epic back then....)/Ujiyasu Hojo (Samurai Warriors).

And finally, goodbye you old punk...Joseph Joestar.

I'll miss his iconic "Oh no!" voice forever.
