Since you can get plain udon in broth in Kagawa for about ¥140 (and even with a bunch of toppings it won't go over ¥500), I hear stories that the locals hardly ever to there. I go a lot because I'm wild for the mentai kamatama udon. Bring back the chilled soy milk udon, please!
Kamatama: Kama'age udon ("pot-boiled", udon served straight from the pot in the water used to boil it) topped with a raw egg (tamago). The mentai version includes walleye pollack roe (mentaiko).
