    香川では素うどんを140円くらいで食べることができたりするので(いろいろのっけても500円いかない)、地元の人はあんまり行かないという話は聞きますねー。
    明太釜玉が大好きなのでよく食べに行きます。

    Since you can get plain udon in broth in Kagawa for about ¥140 (and even with a bunch of toppings it won't go over ¥500), I hear stories that the locals hardly ever to there. I go a lot because I'm wild for the mentai kamatama udon. Bring back the chilled soy milk udon, please!
    Kamatama: Kama'age udon ("pot-boiled", udon served straight from the pot in the water used to boil it) topped with a raw egg (tamago). The mentai version includes walleye pollack roe (mentaiko).

    They apparently started up to tell the whole country about how tasty Sanuki udon is.... A particular thick udon noodle from Kagawa Prefecture

    Marugame Noodle Makers was originally a Kobe company.
    ...but maybe they have a bad rep here in Kagawa because they named themselves "Marugame" on a whim.
    The udon itself is tasty, so if there's one close to home, I'll go eat there...
    Come to think of it, Kagawa's the home of Marugame Noodle Makers, isn't it.
    ...but I wouldn't take the trouble to go all the way to Kagawa for it, see?
