I think this is the first time I've seen someone actually make an official eroge spinoff of a non-eroge series. Yeah, Valis was famous for the entire anime-schoolgirl-fighting-in-skimpy-armor thing, but it still wasn't outright porn or even ecchi like Senran Kagura. I guess they thought they could cater to a certain crowd by doing this, but apparently nobody liked the game or what they did to the characters with good reason. I'm no prude [I've been on this site for over five years now] and I'm desensitized by all sorts of hentai by now, but even I gotta shake my head at this.
I know I've heard stories of authors and artists of official series supposedly making their own porn, but that's a bit different from this situation or even if an artist made some risque art of an otherwise family-friendly series they worked on. It would be like if Hasbro actually paid someone to make some sort of MLP dating simulator with sex scenes and all.
