Not sure why a trump hat would make you feel insulted, but this is basically just a stereotype image. Pretty much what you can expect from the Japanese, it's all they know.
More like they don't see stereotypes as inherently bad and thus aren't afraid to use them.
That's the most copout answer I've ever heard. That'd be like if a artist working for Marvel comics drew a picture of an asian with buck tooth teeth and slit eyes wearing a sun hat and eating rice while having him say something like: Oh! I'm so ronery! If that where to happen, do you think people would be able to brush it off so lightly?

Different societies having different opinions on the same topic isn't a copout answer. It couldn't be any less wrong as a notion that all people think alike about everything.

I don't see why any reasonably well-adjusted person wouldn't be able to roll his eyes at it and get on with the rest of his existence. Not that I'm calling anyone reasonable or well-adjusted.
