Evil, from human perception. You know, the usual. "being different".

Yeap, it is more like she probably chose to develop the more 'yin' side of her powers resulting in her looking a little more 'malevolent' than her regular kin.

The title calls her a "悪狐", or "Akuko", which is just "悪"/"warui", or "bad"/"evil" in front of "狐"/"kitsune"/"fox", kind of like 悪魔, Akuma, or "demon". Another translation would be Demon-fox.

It's worth noting that there are a few different versions of mythical kitsune. While obviously not canon to anything but itself, MGE has a few different varieties that illustrate the general gist of the different types of kitsune:

It's also worth pointing out that kitsune are basically only potentially good guys/pure waifu material in Japan (possibly due to their association with the harvest deity Inari), while in Chinese and the rest of Asian myth, they were usually a lot more generally evil, or at least, self-interested tricksters.

accidentally voted you down when I wanted to reply.

In Korea, their variant the kumibo, is outright evil, since it will kill humans to devour their organs to gain power.

Yup. There's even an SCP which is explicitly a kumiho, and part of why she's so damn dangerous is most people go in expecting her to be a kitsune. Which is a fatal mistake.

She also likes modern culture in the sense she prefers hunting at furry conventions.

Just... Don't call her a kitsune to her face. Any and all pretense will be dropped and running will only prolong your terror.

I'm not like some stray fox in the mountains!
    Sorry, sorry
    Ah, she read my thoughts
Sheesh... your wife keeps herself clean for you all the time...
    shiver
    I don't understand!!
    glance
    Husband's clothes
    I see... I see ❤
    sniff
    She understood.
And you want her to smell... What an oddball...
