If you need help, there is a wiki page for howto:Tumblr, as well as the more general howto:Upload, and others like howto:Tag.

Tumblr generally uses smaller sizes to save on bandwidth, but if you use things like the bookmarklet, Danbooru will automatically retrieve the full file size.
