    Reminds me of a friend, who bought a cheap "wallhanger" sword. He tried to impress us by doing fighting moves with it, causing the blade to disengage from the handle, sending it flying through the living-room, missing his TV-set by an inch.

    Was it sword-like in its stabbing/slashing ability?

    Used to have one of those, and no. You can feel something is wrong with that kind of sword, like the center of gravity aren't balanced like real swords would. You CAN use them to stab/slash something, but don't expect those kind of wallhangers to last, moreeven stay intact.
