I'm not to surprised i think the tail ripping out joke comes from the fact that foxes in mytholgy grew an extra tail every hundred years so it can be assumed that Ran can essentially "reload" her tails if they are ripped out ..... after a hundred years per tail that is
Rather, after gaining 8 additional tails, they're supposed to gradually lose them until they have 4 left at which that stage means they become a tenko and they're at their closest to reaching divinity. But I'm pretty sure she's not supposed to rip them out herself o_o

This is apparently a line from "Mishaguji Empire" a track from the doujin music CD Tohohum, offered at Comiket 74 by the group Sekken-ya. "Kid" is written literally, but is likely meant more in the sense of "Edokko" ("Edo-ite", someone who lived in Edo or acted like a tough city boy), so more like "member/follower" or "fan".
