Commission: A Visitor in the Herd
Something that isn't vayrons for a change!
A long overdue commission of Lapras and Gyarados! I'm excited to finally be able to post this. I was fortunate enough to work with a commissioner who was open to my ideas and the patience to follow through the long process.
The request was basically "a few Lapras swimming in water and Gyarados flying above", and as I was trying to figure out an interesting composition I got an idea of making a paleo art styled scene. Watercolours were a very nice media for this idea and I think the outcome is pretty nice. I looked up some paleo art pieces for reference to see what kind of scenes they usually portray and ended up picturing Lapras' herd behavior and Gyarados' hunting. It was very much fun to figure out the colours and shading on this. It was a challenge but I learned a lot and I'm pleased with the outcome. Would be cool to make more paleo art inspired Pokemon pieces!
