Not at all true, Almost all the Japanese carriers have their historical decks attached to their arm. The 1st, 2nd and 5th carrier divisions do, as well as Katsuragi.

since I havent played the arcade, but arent the planes essentially a Shikigami and that they don't have to return to the decks making Katsuragi's and by proxy Taihou case a bit weird... well if the my theory holds true Wasp could be inspired from Katsuragi, Taihou's cases
as I can see from the other major CVL and CVs in kancolle their decks serve more of an actual armor or something akin to a shoulder pad but eh...
I mean excluding the Unryuu class where their desks are actual scrolls
