It says isekai right in the title.

They'll keep making them until they stop making money.

... Which'll be practically never, since this isn't old and tired yet for the next generation. One of the common refrains of people who loved SAO was that "a videogame world was such an original idea!" because they weren't into anime when .hack was still big.

I remember hearing how you could basically break nearly every story plot down to being either "A hero goes on a journey" or "A stranger comes to town". (And the difference between them is just whether the protagonist's daily life is broken up by them leaving or someone else coming in and breaking it.) Isekai is just the most obvious progression for a wish fulfillment hero's journey.

Isekai isn't even *really* a genre(even though people never get tired of calling it one), it's simply the newfangled japanese term for a plot device(like time travel) that's been around for a long long time.

So long in fact, it predates anime itself, but most younger people simply don't realize that because of their preconceived notions about the term. So even if they have read a literary work with this plot device before, they wouldn't consciously make the connection to your average modern mass produced Isekai and realize they rely on the same plot device.

I have no problems with more isekai. The more there are, the higher the chances some of them are good and not simply an OP MC gathering a harem, with no plot to speak of other than boing.

Of course it helps fantasy adventure is my favourite genre.

And "A hero goes on a journey" isn't a genre either, but people will complain when there are too many things that stick far too close to the Joseph Campbell accidental "roadmap" for their tastes.

The complaint isn't that it's a genre, but that it's generic.

This one is not really an isekai, no. He, the strongest swordsman (already in swords and magic world) beats the Dragon God and in his dying moment, asked for the ability to use magic. The Dragon God reincarnates him in a new body, while keeping his current skill level so he can re-learn magic.
