Well I have heard from some sources that Japanese fans are of the impression, due to this witches look, uniform, nation markings, her familiar (apparently it's a Siamese cat) and all these details sharing astonishing similarities to the Japanese-built Royal Thai Airforce Type 1 Hyabusa II-OTSU fighter that she may be a witch that hails from The Kingdom of Siamro... which is the Strike Witches counterpart of Siam/Thailand.
May be a while until this can be confirmed one way or the other but if it is true then this makes for an awesome addition as far as new witches and world building goes.

Going by what you're saying and the text on the image (which points to this girl being asian but not japanese) I'd say it's quite likely that she's Thai.

Indeed, or more specifically speaking she is Siamese and from an AU version of historical Siam, though that's more of a historical technicality of setting and aesthetic context if anything.
Granted the Strike Witches version of Germany, Karlsland, is in actuality, at least culturally, WWI Imperial Germany in the 1940's with WW2 Germany's tech tree and most of WW2 Germany's tactics.
and that in Strike Witches World Austria-Hungary empire (Ostmark) is still a thing and that Baltland is pretty much the Kalmar Union but but with Finland (Suomus) declaring independence from Sweden but given that Strike Witches is still pretty much Euro-centric in terms of characters and events we might never know considering the world map of Strike Witches Fusou Empire (Japan) acquired some parts of southern Thailand (Siamro) http://strikewitches.wikia.com/wiki/Fuso?file=SWWorld.jpg so she could be any part of the 2 nations she could be Siamro's representative to the Fusou Empire considering Thailand's neutral stance towards Japan during WW2

Possibly but given some of the historical nods in strike witches in general, as well as the quote Naoe made regarding this witch: she may indeed be a genuine Siamro air infantry. Considering some of the actions of the Neruoi during the Fuso Sea incident the Kingdom of Siamro could be involved in some way during the war since apparently Neruoi also have a presence in the East-Asian regions and probably infested the Great Desert Region.
Could be volunteers in real life but never got much exposure. Like in Malaysia, the Talalla brothers joined the RAF during the war, but their names didn't get much exposure until the recent news article and a documentary on them.

Oh almost forgot another interesting detail with Ostmark: apparently it not only is a blend of the Austro-Hungarian empire; there is a bit of a handful of Poland in Ostmark given that a number of it's witches are based off of Polish WW2 aces..... and that, for lack of a better word: Ostmark was "Warsawed" by the Neuroi. >_>
"I'm the newest recruit""Is she one of our fellow Asian brethren?" Naoe said surprised
