I've got no problem with things from the last millennium being old. I mean, it's the "last millennium." That even sounds old. It's not the the atari or NES are old, it's that the things that used to represent modern times are now as old as the 80's stuff was back when it was "the future" during the early 00's. Anything past the year 2000 being this old feels unsettling.
